2001 Updates
December 11, 2001
~Updates,
updates, updates. Didn't we just updated this thing? As a wonderful,
frolicking, dear friend just notified me, we haven't updated the place in
awhile. That being the case, we do have a few updates to post. We
did post another song called "Faith In Yourself". Go download
it, do it now. Hey I'm not warning you again. We were going to call
it "Desperation" but after researching the bazillions songs which had
the same title, we decided on "Faith In Yourself". It's a little
unexpected and therefore slightly more artistic - or something like that.
~We
are started to accumulate a number of songs for the new cd and pretty soon we
will decide on outtakes and where the best stopping point would be for number of
songs on the cd. We recorded all the songs in our own studio so don't
blame me for the quality (Disclaimer available at the bottom of the
"music" page). Mainly we are going for originality and some of
the screw ups in the music are certainly original if not a blatant, crying
example of our laziness....orrrr lack of money to use a pro studio. After
the production of the cd, we will post only a few songs here from the cd for
free download...so get em while their hot. Stop laughing.
~Two thousand and one has certainly been a weird year to
say the least. Terrorists suck. And that's pretty much as clear and
to the point as we can make it and about all I personally want to say about it
at this point anyway. Most everything else has been said
anyway.
~The economy
is showing signs of bouncing back. I, myself have invested what money I
could scrape up in Marvel Enterprises - stock symbol MVL. They are
responsible for the Lord Of The Rings stories which will be in theaters
soon. It really looks like it will be a good movie. Their stock went
up when X-Men came out (another series of Marvel Enterprises stories) so maybe
it will do it again. (And maybe this time I'll sell when I'm supposed to -
I have no stock market sense whatsoever.)
~We have
another song written but not recorded. It's just a matter of timing and
discipline to get into the studio to record it. So for the most part,
things are looking up. Which is a welcome divergence from the plethora of
past perigees. For as long as we can hold orbit, we'll continue to pilot
this perilous puppy. Ok, I'll shut up now. We hope things are going
well for you too and as Journey once said - "Be Good To Yourself".

The latest from the greatest -
WornOutShoes. New song called The Marshmallow. It's about a
combination of things - like people who think they are better than you and the
time just after you put air in your tires and think how it was like riding on
marshmallows before. Come on people! Let's take better care of our
tires!!! Long Live Tires!!!!!!!!!!!!
TIRES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Sorry about that outburst. But you
surely realize that a world without tires, is a world of bumpy rides - or a
world where no one gets a flat. Hmmmm.)

Happy traditional Columbus Day
all! Now don't get over emotional. We just didn't want your day to
be kaput. New song on the way!
August 28, 2001
We are now on
www.mp3.com! Very
cool. Please check us out and help us go up in the charts. We just
got our first piece of fan mail via mp3.com from someone in Hamburg, Germany in
a band called "DJ Mala vs. Patrick Marsh". Seems to like our
song, "Not Enough". What can we say. If someone from
Germany likes our music, ya know we gotta be good. We're world famous
now! Oh. I mean we were all along anyway. No really.
Anyway, thanks DJ Mala for your positive comments!
August 12, 2001
Just posted an updated "Again" song. I've always wanted to
add a jews harp to that song. I finally did. Whether the rest of the
band likes it or not. Muahahahaha!! We also re-posted "When It Hits
The Fan" after some working out some technical difficulties. We also
began working on a site at www.mp3.com. It should be approved in a few
days. Drop by sometime and download our songs again. They're even
better the second time!
August 12, 2001
Just posted another song called "When It Hits The Fan". We
were gonna call it something else but figured that would be too far out
there. We're far enough out there as it is. WHERE out there we don't
know, but we're out there - somewhere. Hey, could someone give us
directions to get back? No. Nevermind. I just
remembered. We already been there. That's why we came out
here. Ok, I'm just rambling now. Trying to think of something more
significant to
post..............................................................................................well...........................................that
didn't work.
August 7, 2001
Geez, I think my webmaster has been laying down on the job! Well, I'll
just have to edit this thing myself. We just posted another song called
"I Don't Know". Yes, it's supposed to sound that way. At
least that's the story we're passing around. Enjoy. Went to see Glen Phillips
again. This time in Knoxville, TN and with four of my closest
rent-a-friends. I almost bumped into Glen on the sidewalk. It would
have been about my luck if I knocked him down, breaking his guitar and his arms
or something. I didn't say anything to him but the show was great and I
look forward to when we can work him into our schedule to do a few pre-shows for
us or something. I'm sure he will jump at the chance. In other news,
well, there is no other news. We're just a bunch of cool nerds playing
musical instruments. What more do ya need to know? I would say
something more profound, but I don't want to. Figure it out for
yourself. If I just told you, that would make it all too easy.
May 25, 2001
The date - Thursday, May 17, 2001. The time - about 10:30 p.m. edt.
The place - Magnolia Street Pub S.C. The reason - Glen Phillips.
That's right folks! Jack and I went to see the former lead
singer/songwriter of Toad The Wet Sprocket, Glen Phillips, perform solo.
It was great and well worth the trip! Preceded by Peter Searcy, there was
no amplification and no microphones for Glen - just he and his guitar. We
all sat in a circle and Glen sat on the edge of the stage close to us.
Awesome. Now, I've heard people play guitar and sing before. But
this guy makes you feel like your time and money have been really well spent and
that you've come to see and hear something worthwhile. His performance was
absolutely masterful. If you get a chance, go see him
sometime!
May 1, 2001
I started to date this April 30 just so you couldn't say we went a whole
month without an update. Alas, life's circumstances didn't permit.
But we offer you a new song to make up for it! Hope you like our newest
release called "Again". The raw, unbridled musicferousness of
this supercofluous symphohonnic masterfuspiece is only second to its most
flowing, rythmoscicidal sounditity. (And for those of you less educated -
it's a good song. Don't you dare touch that dictionary. Trust
me. Those were all real, live, actual words.)
On a another note, we are hoping to go see Glen Phillips in concert on May 17 in
South Carolina. We encourage all to do the same. He's a really great
musician whom everyone says has a great personality to match, and we are looking
forward to it. In case folks from Lapdog may be reading (right - hey it
could happen), we would also really like to see you guys in concert so TOUR
TOUR TOUR!!! Check out www.glenphillips.com
and/or www.lapdogmusic.com for info on
them guys.
March 30, 2001
Hi kids! Welcome to yet another happy update. We should have
done this sooner but....ok no excuse. Just busy with our millions of fans
and life on the road. If you will go to the Photos page, you will see a
link at the top to - you guessed it - more photos. Woohoo! No band
picture yet but it's in the works now and will probably be the next
update. New song on the Music page called "Me". If you
like heavy metal, and I mean really heavy metal, well sorry. This ain't
it.
February 10, 2001
Well, we just got back from our tour in zip code 37642. Let me tell ya,
it really took a lot out of us. Them people are wild. Anyway, we
finally had the time to record another of the world's greatest lyrical/musical
masterpieces. The mp3 is on the music page for you to download. It's
called "Can't Be Said" and it's about um, things that well, can't be
said....so if they can't be said, how did we say them? Hey, we're just gooooood.
Yeah. That's it. And whilst ya'll buy that explanation, we shall now
go try to think of another one for later use. Happy Valentines!
January 12, 2001
The updates to the site are pretty obvious. What may not be obvious is
the upcoming birthday of our lead singer. Haha. On the 14th, he'll
be...........................nine.........................(ok Shoes, let go of
my arm!)
