Buttercup
I saw you lying there in the
field, Autumn leaves in your hair
As I tried to prepare found a buttercup, strange this time of year
Not wanting to misjudge, thought I'd give it to you and make you smile
Hoping to make up for all the things I said last night
But I saw tears sounded like a
thunderstorm
For thoughtless things I said and done
Somewhere along the way I lost some warmth
But would you believe in a buttercup
Time goes by maybe we don't know
why but we always come here again
Forgetting how to criticize forgiving unpardonable sin
And though I make the same mistakes please overlook my absence of mind
The worst thing you could say was the silence when you look into my eyes
And I cried tears sounded like a
thunderstorm
What kind of fool had I become?
Stupid, angry, sick, blind monster
Who couldn't even see the life in a buttercup
Be my buttercup
Be my buttercup
After all we been through
Don't you know my life's all about you?
Be my buttercup
Be my buttercup
I will beg you to know this
I'll build rainbows high above us
I will not break one promise
If you will just be my buttercup
Nothing will break us apart again
No one will separate us
I will take you to heaven
If you will just be my buttercup
Be my buttercup
Be my buttercup
BE MY BUTTERCUP
